My Fave Way To Increase Energy

As I mentioned last week, I'm so excited to share my absolute favorite way to increase energy....especially at that 2:30 pm midday slump!

Two words: Ningxia Red

You may have heard me talk about this red juice with the funny name before but have you really taken the time to take a look at the benefits of this super juice? It's unlike ANY juice on the market. I like to call it "Ninja Juice" because of the Ninja powers I feel after drinking it. Kidding...kind of...

Why is hydration so important?

Sweet Summertime. The sun. oh how I have missed you. Pool or lake days, BBQs, getting outside! Summer is the season of being outdoors. It’s also the season of forgetting to hydrate, sunburns, and bugs. BUGS! In today’s email and next week's, we will dive into each of these further.

Hydration is key to many functions in the human body, and in the summer heat, it can be challenging to maintain hydration. One of the most significant roles that water plays in the body is regulating internal temperature. The body’s ability to stay cool in hot weather depends on proper hydration. But hydration isn’t maintained by water consumption alone. Yikes! Water is vital, but electrolytes are also required for hydration. The body cannot fully absorb the water you drink without electrolytes. In addition, electrolytes are necessary for nutrient absorption. You must have sufficient electrolytes to absorb the vitamins and minerals from the food you eat. So it’s a big deal!

Electrolytes help regulate nerve and muscle function, hydrate the body, balance blood acidity and pressure, and help rebuild damaged tissue. So what is the easiest way to introduce electrolytes to your body? Sea salt. Seriously! Sprinkle some pure non-iodized sea salt into your water. You will barely notice it is there.

Along with skipping iodized salt, skip the pink Himalayan salt. Another way I like to get my electrolytes in is by using the YL Vitality Drops. They are packed with electrolytes (sourced from the Great Salt Lake, which has over 70 naturally occurring ionic trace minerals!!) which are so needed for our bodies to function correctly.

Your body will thank you if you start adding sea salt or YL’s Vitality Drops to your water!

Natural Floor Cleaner Using Orange Essential Oil

I love a fresh smelling, sparkling clean home - especially when I know I'm using all-natural cleaning recipes! Then I don't have to worry about any little ones or pets getting near harsh chemicals. If you're like me you'll want to try this quick & natural floor cleaning recipe that's great for keeping hard floors clean and shiny.

Natural Floor Cleaner Using Orange Essential Oil

It's so easy to make effective, homemade cleaners to use around your home. A homemade floor cleaner using essential oils will keep your hard floors clean and shiny with ease.

I like to keep it simple by using an all-natural recipe with the things I often have on hand. The best part is that I don't have to worry about any harsh ingredients for pets, little ones, or sensitive noses.

 Homemade Floor Cleaner

 Ingredients:
-1 cup of distilled white vinegar – it's an incredible cleaner and effective disinfectant. I promise you won't smell vinegar when you're done.

-10 drops of Orange Essential Oil to add shine and a refreshing citrus scent.

-5 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil for its antibacterial properties.
(Cedarwood is a nice substitute for wood floors instead.)

-1 teaspoon of Dawn dish soap to cut right through grease and questionable grime found on kitchen floors.

-1 gallon of hot water because it evaporates faster than cool water will, effectively reducing streaks or accidental footprints.

 Directions:
-Combine all of the ingredients in a large cleaning bucket.
-Dip your mop, cleaning cloth, or cleaning cloth in the solution then use to wash your hard floors.

DIY Cinnamon Orange Room Spray

Items Needed:
Cinnamon Bark essential oil
Orange essential oil
Lemon essential oil (Pine works well too!)
Witch Hazel
8oz spray bottle
Distilled water

Directions
Using the spray bottle, mix approximately 10 drops of Cinnamon Bark, 20 drops of Orange and optionally 5-10 drops of Lemon or Pine essential oils with about 5 tablespoons of witch hazel, then fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water.

Spray as desired into rooms or on linens for a bright and refreshing aroma!

Dealing With Anxiety In Today’s Turbulent World

Dealing With Anxiety In Today’s Turbulent World
Okay, so besides the normal day to day hustle and immense stress of daily living in the modern world, we now have a pandemic to contend with.

Unfortunately, dealing with anxiety has become somewhat of a normal part of life for many individuals in the world today. Although this problem is not necessarily a new phenomenon, there are certain aspects of modern times that have served to exacerbate the issue.

Due to our world being so connected through the internet, social media and other forms of media, people today are not only exposed to the issues in their immediate environment. Instead, we are shown all of the bad things taking place across the entire globe. Furthermore, we are expected to juggle so many more responsibilities at one time, all while being as productive as possible.

Although anxiety certain varies in intensity and frequency from person to person, there are a few ways to deal with the problem that are beneficial for anyone experiencing this issue. This article intends to discuss a few of these techniques in order to alleviate some of your anxiety, hopefully improving your overall quality of life.

Live In The Moment

Although it may seem obvious when stated, the only point in time in which you will EVER exist is right now. Ironically, most of us dedicate the bulk of our mental energy into the past or future. Anxiety is great at causing us to replay past mistakes in our head and constantly worry about things that have yet to occur.

A big part of dealing with anxiety is to live in the moment. This means focusing all of your physical and mental energy on what is going on right now. Not only does this simplify life, it also allows you to get the most out of your limited time.

Trying to deal with your entire past and future on a constant basis makes it virtually impossible to appreciate what is right in front of you.

Control What You Can Control

The truth is, many of the issues causing anxiety in your life are beyond your control. This includes global and community issues as well as problems in your personal life.

What you need to realize is that the weight of the world is NOT on your shoulders, even though it can certainly seem like it at times. Anxiety tells you that you should be worried about solving problems that are way out of your hands.

In reality, focusing on the issues that you actually have the ability to resolve is a much healthier response to a problem-filled world.

It’s Okay To Not Feel Okay

Another side effect of anxiety is a feeling of isolation. People experiencing anxiety on a routine basis tend to feel like they are the only ones dealing with this issue.

Because of this perspective, we often feel like everyone else is much happier than we are, like we won’t be accepted if anyone else knew the extent of our anxiety. It is so important to realize that this is far from the truth.

Everyone around you is experiencing some degree of anxiety or mental hang up. You are far from alone. Don’t feel like you have to go through life acting as if everything is okay when it isn’t.

Get Help If You Need It

Finally, if your anxiety is something you are having trouble dealing with on your own, then don’t! There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking professional help for this issue. Ironically, our society welcomes getting help for even minor physical ailments but acts as if doing the same for a serious mental issue is taboo.

Consider this, if you had the flu, you would most certainly seek the appropriate doctor to take care of it. Why would you not seek a doctor that is medically trained in alleviating mental health issues if you are dealing with anxiety? There is help out there, get it if you need it!

You Become Like the People You Spend Most Time With

As adults, we all want to believe that we control our own lives and aren’t easily influenced by those around us. Often times, that’s simply not the case. We’re influenced by so many things in our lives. The media, entertainers and other powerful influencers have an impact on the ways we think and behave. On a more personal level, those closest to us may have the biggest impact of all. It’s important that you learn to recognize how other people impact what you do and how you feel if you hope to set clear boundaries for yourself. Let’s explore this topic more closely so that you can begin to understand these types of influences and how to break free of them.

The Impact of Others

Other people can truly impact the ways in which we feel and behave on a regular basis. This is especially true when the influencer is someone you respect, care about or wish to impress. What these people do and say can greatly affect your mood, which can then cause you to behave in certain ways. That is, if you let them. The key to setting boundaries and protecting yourself from negative influences is to determine the types of behaviors and actions you’ll allow in your life.

Do Others Impact You?

Sometimes the people we interact with regularly have the most impact on our lives in ways we may not even realize. It’s imperative that you take time to think about the people who may be influencing your mental health and happiness in negative ways so that you can begin to set boundaries regarding their presence. You probably have an idea which folks may be causing you discomfort. Take a moment to sit down and think about the ones who cause you problematic issues and try to determine in what ways they are most affecting you. Do some journaling or note taking if necessary, in order to clarify your thoughts. Once you have some insight into the ways in which people in your life are causing you to feel such things as fear, anger, jealousy, inferiority or other negative emotions, you can begin to create some boundaries to help you overcome their impact.

How to Reduce the Impact

Pay attention to how you feel around others in your life. When you notice an uncomfortable emotion or tightness in your muscles, try to identify what’s causing the feeling. Once you do, you can then make a plan for how to handle each one. Perhaps you may wish to have a heart to heart with those who impact you in negative ways, letting them know how you’re feeling and what types of behaviors you won’t accept from them. If this feels like too much to take on, you may simply wish to minimize your contact with certain individuals. Sometimes it may make the most sense to remove someone from your life completely.

Each decision will need to be made on a case by case basis and making them won’t always be easy. However, once you begin to identify the impact of others, you can start to take charge of how you respond. And that’s an empowering feeling.
